This whole-house restoration and expansion has included removing asbestos roof shingles and siding and replacing them with cedar shingles and a new slate roof, as well as the replacement of all the interior mechanical systems, plumbing and wiring. A new garage wing has been built, and an expansive bluestone terrace with fieldstone walls has replaced the original banal wood deck. An expanded sunroom has been totally reconstructed to capture views of nearby Long Island Sound. The attic, once home to an outdated air-conditioning duct system—not to mention bats and pigeons, is being reconfigured with dormers and renovated to create a luxurious third-floor suite with a spacious bath, sitting room and bedroom.
